Adding links
Relate tables to each other to have more options
By linking tables together, you get more ways to access data. By linking, you only need to maintain data in one place, so you always work with up-to-date data.
Let's try it out!
How it works
In the Event Management database, you now have 2 tables:
- Events (see Add Table)
- Company (see Link Tables)
Open table settings
First, we need to open the table settings for the Events table:
- Open the Events table.
- Click the gear icon
in the top left.
- In the drop-down menu, select Edit Fields.
Add a link
To create a link to the Company table, follow these steps:
- In the table settings of the Events table, click Link Fields in the right column.
- You will see all tables available in the Events database. We want to create a link (reference) to the Company table.
- Drag the Company field into the middle column (just like you did when creating the table with other fields).
- Click Save.
Here and in the following steps, we always use the same way to access the table settings. However, there are other ways... Learn more
