Create and assign new roles
It makes sense that employees can only edit databases they have been invited to.
However, you can define exactly what each user is allowed to do in Ninox. To do this, we will now create a new role and assign specific permissions to it.
Creating a New Role
When inviting a new user, you can either select a default role or create a new role (or assign an already created custom role).
How to Do It
- Go to the Database Overview of the workspace.
- Click on + Invite in the right-hand column. (1)
- Enter the corresponding email address. (2)
- Under Permissions, select Add New Role and then enter the name of the new role, e.g., Analyst. (3)
- Click on Send Invitation.
By default, the invitation is sent with the Editor permission.
Now, the recipient only needs to accept the invitation.
By selecting "Add New Role," you can create a new role and assign specific permissions to it.
Assigning a Different Role Later
If you want to change a colleague’s role afterward, click on their name in the workspace overview and select the new role under Permissions.
This change must be made in the workspace overview.
