Selecting a record

We will explain the difference between an active and a selected record.

Before we print an individual record, we want to clarify the difference between an

  • active and a

  • selected record

record.

Active Record

When you click on a record in the table, the form view of the record slides in from the left. This allows you to edit the record, for example.

In the underlying table, this active record is highlighted with a blue border and a shaded background.

Once you've clicked/activated a record in the table, you will see the form view of that record.

Selected Record

When you click on a row number in the table, the row number turns into a checkmark ☑️. You have selected the record.

In the screenshot, you can see that the same record is still active (blue border and shaded background) and displayed in the form view, but selected are 3 other records (row numbers 18, 19, and 20).

ℹ️ Note the difference between an active and a selected record.

3 records are selected, 1 record is active.

This will become important when we look at the various print options

ℹ️ Of course, an active record can also be selected at the same time.
