Image size in fx field

IMAGES SIZE:

I have a table, containing images, to be used as headers in other places of my database

I have made the images to fit the size of the header space - a fx field :

(select HEADERS).Header9

but no matter what I do, the image shrinks.

what can I do?

The blue "PERSONAS" image should be as large as the green background

Thanks,

John.

The resolution of your original image is probably too small. You need a larger image otherwise even if you could make it fit it would probably appear distorted.

Paul Chappell , the original image is based on a screenshot in order to have the same dimension as the form itself - and it doesn't matter what size of image I use, it always "shrinks"...

just to illustrate - I took the screenshot of the problem - placed it in the "header-field" - and even made the field larger...

I've been desperately looking for an option to make the image crop, resize, stretch or whatever it takes to make it fit...

John unfortunately that’s not the way images work. You can’t just take a large screenshot. You need a large resolution original and then it will automatically shrink/resize to the area of your image field and fill the field. Try it with a high res photo.

You need something with html. See this post for info: https://forum.ninox.com/t/p8hrmy2#m1hrrvt

Paul did try a 2000 x 500 px img. with same result (so perhaps I misunderstand something :)

RoSoft_Steven thanks for the link. Made it work with a Google drive image URL placed in a field in the actual form.

Now I just need to figure out how to pick the image from another table in order to use it as a header on the form. A little late night task for me I guess :))

John Give it a try. Take a photo. Upload it. And resize.

An image says more than a thousand words... this short video is appr. 1800 images.. that saves us a lot of words :-)

Hope this explains what I'm trying to do. (The purpose of the image is to be a HEADER on each record. So I just want to keep ONE image, being shown on all relevant forms)

But Paul Chappell I don't see any resize options anywhere?....

John Try using an html() command with style attributes:

Paul Chappell Thanks Paul. I think my problem stems from Birgen Hansen teaching me the trick of having all internal header images etc. stored in one record,  in one table, and then using the "select(Headers).header9" formula to fetch the actual image. But that of course was intended for the local Mac version of Ninox - and now, using the web version, I see that there is no need for that little tweak anymore.

So I'll go with your solution instead. Thanks :-)

John Thanks John. Of course, the other issue with storing large images in a DB is it increases the size of the database. Sometimes this is unavoidable but probably not needed in your case.
