show only relevant table columns based on two criteria

Objective

Map relevant terms, people, and institutions to respective slides.

Hurdles

Show appropriate table columns based on source/target language.

Hey Ninox Experts,
Hey / ,

Your invaluable support on previous occasions has been instrumental in advancing my project. I'm hopeful that one of you again may lend their guidance.

, as you may recall from the previous version (referenced here), your assistance in setting up a brilliant dashboard solution was incredibly helpful. Now, as my needs and the project have evolved, I've encountered a challenge with the dashboard solution that falls short of needs when dealing with multiple speakers and languages in one single conference.

In the new environment, I've attempted various approaches to map the relevant terms to the appropriate slides, replicating the code structures you provided in the earlier version. Unfortunately, my efforts have not yielded the desired results. I suspect that part of the issue may lie in the relationships between individual tables, or maybe it's just due to my lack of experience altogether.

As illustrated in the image above, each conference comprises multiple speeches and speakers, each with numerous slides. Regarding the glossary, each term can now be mapped to individual slides via an n:m relation (term/speech__connection.tbl). The challenge arises in displaying only the relevant languages and abbreviations based on the speaker's (source) language and the interpreter's (target) language (VOlang / VIlang). For instance, if a speaker communicates in German and the interpreter interprets into French, the desired output would be a table starting with VOLang followed by columns for VOAbbr, VILang, and VIAbbr.

Once I have the structures in place for the "terms", I aim to replicate the same process for the people.tbl and introduce a new institution.tbl as well. For that, I have already set up a switch "INST / Peeps / Terms" so that I can see all three or just one or the other, but I have yet to create the necessary linking relationships between the tables. In the image below, you will see helper fields (VO/VI) that I have created to link back to the speechTbl just to be sure the info was available correctly but would think I could take this directly without the detour?

Attached, you will find a simple version of the current project with only one conference but multiple language pairs to get an idea of where I am headed.  Your insights and expertise in navigating this mapping issue would be immensely appreciated.

Well, I’ve uploaded it now three times, but when I look back at history nothing is there.  I’ll try and create a link instead.
