Exporting data

You have various options to download or export your data from Ninox

In general, you don’t need to worry about your data. If you use Ninox Cloud, Ninox automatically creates regular backups of your data, which you can restore if needed.

However, you may also want to download or export your data for other reasons.

Exporting a Database

To export an entire database within a workspace at once, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the workspace overview, where you can see all databases in your workspace.
  2. Hover your mouse over the database you want to export until you see the arrow icon.
  3. Select Create Backup.
  4. By default, all options except for the change history are selected in the following pop-up. This means your backup automatically includes:
    • all comments
    • all data
    • all attached files
  5. Click OK.

In the Manage Backups pop-up, you will find the latest backup at the top under Manual Backups. Select the relevant backup and click Download Backup. The file will be saved in your Downloads folder.

The downloaded file is in Ninox format (.ninox).

Please note that manual backups are not available in the Starter plan.
