Impossible to type a word in a text field…

What do you mean - it is not displayed in the columns?

Does the word show in the field you have typed it in - in the form view?

Do you mean that it is showing in the form but not in a table view? if so has that field been added to the table view?

Has the field had its display rights altered ?

If you can give a bit more info - we can see if we can reproduce or help further
