Re: Sending attachments via API
The code I posted works for PDF files in my environment. But it was just a proof of concept to see if it could be done. There is no error handleing. One issue is that the name of the file is lost and…

Re: Sending attachments via API
If you share the entire view, it is possible to retrieve the share URL for a file by parsing the HTML table. I made this code for a button just to see if it was possible.…

Re: How do i display an attached document in the data entry window?
You can create an Image field and use that. Ninox will display a thumbnail of the document if it is a PDF.

Re: Sending attachments via API
The way you share the view is with the gear icon, then "Share this view..." Then you choose HTML, as that is the only one that will share the attached "image"

Re: Sending attachments via API
Not sure it will help, but if you share a view in HTML, images are available at the share link. A PDF file can be specified in an image field.

Re: How to rename attached files ?
The importFile() function allows you to rename the PDF when you import it. This code below works for me when attached to a button. importFile(this.Id, "http://www.pdf995.com/samples/pdf.pdf", "my.…

Re: fillable PDFs
I found a less complicated way to do what I wanted to do. I realized Ninox can treat a PDF as an image file. I split the PDF into single pages with PDFSAM,…

Re: create a template
Is there an easy way to clear all data out of a DB and reset it so all IDs will start with 1 when new data is added?

Re: Make dialogs/modals draggable.
Also, alerts and dialogs seem to be of a fixed width. Alerts will allow scrolling if the text goes beyond the alert window width, but the dialog just lets text run outside the dialog box.

Re: User interface automation
The for loop is kindof ugly. This puts it in one line: let myP := (create Table); printRecord(first((select Table)[Id = myP.Id]) , "name")

Re: User interface automation
So I guess a workaround for the original issue would look something like this: let myP := (create Table);for i in (select Table)[Id = myP.Id] doprintRecord(i, "name")end

Re: User interface automation
It looks like printRecord requires a nid. OpenPrintLayout, openRecord, and popupRecord all works with both rid and nid.

Re: Map image with location field?

Re: How can I generate bar codes from my ninox database ?
To import the barcode as an image in the record instead of an attachement, you can do this: Image := importFile(Id, "http://www.barcodes4.me/barcode/c39/"+ barcode +".png", "barcode.png")

Re: How can I generate bar codes from my ninox database ?
I am overcomplicating this. You can use importFile() to create the barcode. No need to use the http(). importFile(Id, "http://www.barcodes4.me/barcode/c39/"+ barcode +".png", "barcode.png")

Re: How can I generate bar codes from my ninox database ?
I forgot that the http() function wants a json response, so you can’t directly import the file. From the manual Return Value A json object containing either an error or a result property.…
