you can duplicate your database or save it as archive and re-import it as your template.

Is there an easy way to clear all data out of a DB and reset it so all IDs will  start with 1 when new data is added?

In the Ipad version, you can duplicate the database and chose if you want to copy the records or not(this will clear all entries and reset the counter if you chose not to copy records) This doesn't work with the cloud version. Solution could be: you can make a backup from the icloud database and then import in the Ipad version and then make a duplicate without de records.
