v5 of Carbone in Beta

Hi all -

Just saw that Carbone announced the beta of v5. With the big announcement of:

Designer Assistant: This is the main part of the studio where you can test, debug, and build your templates. Now, this part can be embedded into your application (as a Web Component).

Soon, currently projected to be final in Feb 2025, it sounds like we won't need MSWord or LibreOffice to build templates.

Anyone attend the 3.14 webinar? Did they talk about the Carbone app being embedded?

I think I am mistaken about not needing an external editor. All their v5 documentation references LibreOffice and Word, so I guess that is not going away.

Hi, this is good news! It looks like Carbone is becoming a serious print engine for any application. If Ninox does a good job of integrating Carbone's web component, the result will be promising, but we're not there yet.

You're right, we will always need a template, but it looks like they are working on their own converter (Carbone Ice) of the original template to PDF with a significant speed increase!
