On Monday, 24 August 2026 at 10:00 CEST, Ninox will end support for the older encryption protocols TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on all Ninox Public Cloud services, including the Ninox app, API endpoints, and related services. From that moment, connections require TLS 1.2 or newer.

Why we’re doing this: TLS 1.0 and 1.1 have long been superseded by newer versions. In practice, this changes very little: modern browsers and operating systems have always negotiated the highest available encryption level automatically, and TLS 1.3 has been the standard protocol in day-to-day use for years. For example, current Linux systems run TLS 1.3 natively. We are now formally disallowing the old versions to keep your data protected in line with current security standards.

Who is affected: Almost nobody. The vast majority of connections already use TLS 1.2 or 1.3. You are only affected if you access Ninox with very old browsers or operating systems, or with custom integrations built on outdated runtimes or libraries.
Current browsers and operating systems, the Ninox apps, and integrations built in the last several years are not affected and require no action.

What to do if you’re affected: Update your operating system, browser, or the runtime/library your integration uses to one that supports TLS 1.2 or newer. To test ahead of time, verify your client can reach other TLS 1.2-only services, or contact our support team for help.
