Multiple forms for a table?

It seems like any given table can have multiple forms created for it, however, when I do that I don't see any fields on the form. Changing the Edit columns... makes no difference.

I looked through the Manual and can't figure this out.

What is the point of multiple forms if not to display an entry form in different ways?

    Do you have a record in the Contacts table?

    The only way I could get a blank form is when there is no record in the DB.

    In addition, Columns have no affect on Forms.

      Fred Oh for sure there are records. I have a form tab that has all the fields but if I hit + and add a second or third form, they're blank. What's the point of multiple forms?

      Kent Signorini Don't know what to say. I can't create forms that are blank. They always show all fields.

      Fred Maybe it's a browser caching issue. Let me play with that.

      But for follow up, is there any reason to have more than one Form type tab? (I realize you can get away without any, but the UI lets me add more than one...so why?)

    I haven't found a reason to have multiple forms since it shows the same fields over and over. But my use is very focused on my own DB. Someone else may have found a good use.

    Multiple tabs. YES!
