About = in searching words
Hi
When I want to search a word inside others
Ex : only Ara in :
Blue Ara
Ara macaw
Red Ara
="Ara" does not work !
But if I search only X in :
X
X X
XXX
="X" works
Is it normal ?
If yes, what can I use for Ara ?

I tested with others words in others columns, it works !

In a text field if you do an equal then you have to match the whole field. If you switch to like "Ara" then you should find all fields with the word "Ara" in it. -
I gace a very detailed reply about finding Ara a few weeks ago!

Hi Mel. I came to the same conclusion but it was pointed out to me in the forum that this isn't always going to work. In the detailed reply I gave a few weeks ago I added a formula field to add an asterix before and after every word using "*" + replace(Name, " ", "*") + "*" and then search for "*Ara*" or filter for like "*Ara*". Worked a treat. Do you remember this Addinsell?

Yes absolutely John, and thanks for that again but that formula gives all the names with Ara in compound words :
"Ara bleu"
"Ara vert"
"Ara hyacynthe"
What I’m searching is to give "Ara" alone in compound words :
"Ara"
