Edit PDF -> file forever stuck in the editor

The following is only concerning the Ninox app (on macOS) v3.15. We are barely ever using the browser version.

We have PDF files in "image" fields. When we click on that image field that shows a preview of the PDF file, the default system program for opening PDFs opens. This is desired behavior.

Problem: If someone ever clicked on the image field's burger menu and selected "edit PDF", this PDF will open with the editor that is built into Ninox. But not just this once; forever. So now simply left-clicking on the image field will also open the editor every time.

How can this be reverted? We were unable to locate a means to disable the PDF editor for that file and have it open with the default PDF program again. Therefore, the PDF is stuck in the editor forever after someone clicked "edit PDF". This seems like a bug.

When "editing" a PDF attachment, Ninox creates a ".xfdf" file in the attachments TAB.

As long this file is there, Ninox will open the PDF with the build in editor.

You have to delete this ".xfdf" attachment in order to open again with the default PDF viewer.

Be aware your annotations will be lost!!!

       Thank you for this workaround.

I would expect there to be a proper process that is feasible for regular users.
