It's not possible. The only thing you can do is use a formula that only shows the content if the result is other than null. But the field itself will always be visible (i.e, you can't view it if it has no border color nor backgroud, but there is always an empty space in your form). As for tables, they always show their headings.

You can use the display only if and put a formula in there.  Such as if field = null then null else field.
