Button to show fields?

Hi.

Right now I'm using a checkbox to make some fields appear in my view. I would like to make a button do the job, so there are less fields in my table. Any clue about it?

Thanks

you can use a "switch SI-NO" like a button and in "Visible if" of text filed use the code:

    'switch SI-NO"= true

Ok thanks so much. That works perfectly, but doesn't change the fact that a yes/no switch is needed anyway. I guess having a button for that purpose it's just a matter of design 'cause the switch is actually doing the job.

I, also, am interested in a button for this purpose.  Until now, I did what "Andrea" suggested with a switch.  Yes, works perfectly, but a button would be better because bigger so easier to click, and has three color options.  Any clue about it?

    "gsechi@centrostudiml.it" -

Yes!  We can do exactly that with buttons.

Birger gave the solution in another thread two weeka ago.  Thank you, Birger.

Just now I followed his instructions and it worked as you want.  (If you wish, I can provide screen prints with the button formulas.)

    Here is the thread:  https://tinyurl.com/ybo7b5px

(Note: Using the "search" function on this forum was no help at all.  I had to use the AI program I've mentioned previously to find the solution.)

Leo - Thank you for that link to dropbox.  But I can not access whatever it is.  Is it possible for you to paste a screen print here?

I'm very interested to see it, and to learn more about buttons in NX.  Probably some other people here, also.

    Thank you.

    Ah, very nice.   😀

Here is a screen print of the formula Leo used in the button:

(Thank you, Leo, for "pushing" me to "try again".  I appreciate that.  I am not familiar with Dropbox, and I am very cautious about downloading anything.  But this was good to learn.  It will be very useful many places.  Whenever you have more good ideas, I look forward to seeing.)

I did not understand everything at first.  There is more clever thinking in Leo's button (above) than I realized.

    1) Yes, it does show/hide fields.

    2) It changes color depending on show/hide status.

    3) The button also changes it's name, depending on status.

This is very fine thinking.  If Leo would make a video, anyone who sees this would be impressed.  Or you can download the database he offers above. (The database is only one record.)

Here is a screen print showing "more options".

This is great. Let's make a toast at Leo's solution.
