Clicking Chart button damaged solution

This moring i opened an invoices table with over 22,000 invoices. Then I clicked the Chart button above the list. That button had never been clicked before. The Chart appeared with a huge number of columns. I assume it was trying to create a column for each reccord. On the right I changed the selection from columns to rows. The screen froze. I exited the solution, re-entered, and then tried to view the invoices list again and it was still frozen (was now defaulting to the Chart view). Exited solution again, cleared cache, and re-entered solution. Same problem when attempted to open invoices table. Had to do a solution restore from a backup.

Is this a known issue? Is there a way to hide the Chart button, so it can not be clicked? Seems like a dangerous situation. I am thankful for the automated backup and restore.
