extrapolate number of month of current year from 2 dates

Hi, I need to extrapolate how many months of the current year there are between 2 dates. For example: I have 2 dates 05/01/2021 and 05/01/2022. I would like to know how many months of the current year there are between the two dates. Can you help me please? Thanks!
