Email Link isn't working on my MacBook

I have a lot of contacts in my database. The link to automatically open my email app works fine on my iPad Pro. However, the email links don't work on my Macbook Pro. It doesn't open my Apple mail program. Do you know if there is a mail setting I need to fix?

    I discovered that the standalone version of Ninox on my Macbook Pro - email link working to bring up the mail program, so the problem obviously is the cloud version of Ninox.
