Indicating already picked Multiple Choice fields

I have a table of users linked to a table of assets (ie A-Z). Each user could pick more than one option ie User1 has A, D; User2 has B, P etc.

How can i indicate which choices are already selected or have never been selected?

I dont want multiple Users having same assets and I want to know which assets arent assigned.

Or how do i get an error indication if I choose an asset for more than one User?

    This is a multi-select question.. To address the first. "I dont want multiple users"... you can put a "constraint" on your select relationship. 

    The "error" condition is a bit different.. I would suggest solving the first issuse..
