Overlapping Forms - Mac/Ipad/Iphone

I've been using Ninox (v3.8.7) to only track medical billing (i.e. one database, one table for each year) since 2016.  Synch and use between my trusty old late 2012 mac mini (Catalina 10.15.7) and ipad/iphone both running latest iOS.  I was entering data into a form on my mac mini about two weeks ago and scrolled down on the form to complete the data entry when I noticed the form seemed to be duplicated and difficult to read - one version remained stationary while an overlapping form moved and was able to accept data entry. In addition, the data I was entering would not be visible in the form but would show up in the corresponding record table. Get out of the form and open it back up and the data I had entered was visible - but entering any new data and the form issue continued. Same issue seen in my iOS devices. I have been discussing with Ninox support but it has been a week since I sent a copy of my databases to them and no response. As of a couple of days ago, ninox has frozen up - I can open ninox but it remains stuck at the last form I had opened up with what looks like a rotating circle of progress. So as of now, Ninox is frozen on my mac mini, and I am still able to work with ninox on my iOS devices though they have the duplicating form/phantom data issue that started on the mac mini.  Probably a matter of time before they also freeze up. I have closed/re-opened and restarted my mac mini with no joy - no other issues with mac mini (or the iOS devices).

Any ideas while I continue to wait for ninox support?

That is a weird bug. I’ve had concerns with the MacOS app now that it is free with how well they will support it and with another iCloud bug reported in forums, I’ve switched over to the cloud version.

But let us try one thing to get your mac mini going:

    • open the Terminal app
    • You can find it via Spotlight search, the magnifying glass in the top right corner (just type Terminal)
    • Copy and paste the following command:

    defaults delete de.ninoxdb.ninox-mac.Ninox

    • then you can execute the command by pressing enter

Fred There was an update to the iOS app that seems to have fixed the issue on my iOS devices. But the issue remains on my Mac (and I see it has not been updated recently).  I executed your suggested terminal commands and then restarted ninox. Issue still remains. I was not aware of a cloud version - will check that out and pray it is free or that ninox upgrades the Mac version.

The terminal command was only to get you access to your DB from your MacOS app. It was not going to fix your overlapping issue.

The cloud version is, sadly, not free.

Fred Ah - ok wrt terminal command.  And thanks for the note wrt cloud cost. So down to the remaining original wish that ninox applies the iOS fix to the Mac version.

Got a msg from ninox yesterday saying this issue was fixed in ninox 3.8.10 that is already released in the cloud version - just waiting for the fix to clear apple so hopefully back to normal soon.
