Charts
OK, as you say, charts are fairly easy. That may be true to someone intimately knowledgeable on how to use the program but not so to someone trying to learn. Focus on a picture is worth a thousand words, namely, screen shots. How about a customer data base where people live in various states, or countries. How do you go about creating a chart where each bar represents the number of people living in each state. Seven states, then 7 bars. This would require some filtering (again, the picture is worth a thousand words) and maybe grouping??? I know that your program can do this but the manual is very weak in clarifying just how to do things.

Hi Thomas,
assuming you have a table for Customers with a field State:
- Configure your table view as follows (Filter button top / centered):
- First column State, Sort: Grouped
- Second colum Id, Footer: Count
Best regards

Thank you. That worked. Now I have the counts presented but how do I capture these numbers from this display to use elsewhere.

Hi,
I have a chart with the counts of records in a group. The value of the vertical axe starts at 1 and the categories with a value of 1 are not represented on the chart. IS there a way to get the chart starting at 0? -
Is there any way to label the X axis? I've created a chart which I want to show a line graph of values by visits. Everything is self contained in the one table.
When I create my graph however all I get is (so far for the two rows that are in the table) as 1 and a 2 on the x-axis. I tried things like grouping etc but that had no effect. For the graph to be useful I'd need the date of the visit displayed on the X axis. -
Hi Rachel,
the x-axis is labeled with the first data column. Click on "edit columns" on the right side to choose another.
We will add more features to customize charts in different ways.

I created a chart with days (duration) as the X axis. How do I get the axis to be scaled? Right now the labels are just spaced at equal intervals.

Hi elsien,
first make sure, that the values for the x-axis are numeric, then switch to to line chart.

How about Time Series ?? Charting based on dates? I get that I can use the serial date number.. but those values would not be very useful to the end user.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your input. We will consider that when we improve the diagramm functions further in the near future.
Kind regards, Jörg
