Professional help

Sorry if this topic has come up previously.

I'm considering hiring someone to help me with my database. I need help creating a better version (version 2) of what I've already made. I have a fairly good idea of what I need and how the current version could be improved, but my weakness is really in the database architecture.

What are my options? I think the best thing for me would be finding someone who is willing to just answer questions when they come up, but would also be able to do part of the development.
