Export Data

I have a table with several records of images named Photo.jpg. I would like to rename these images by using a formula combining field values. I would also like to export all renamed images in a batch for use in other applications. Is this possible?

Hello, you can use mass data to rename the images according to a field value for example. (note that changes with mass data updates are permanent)
To bulk export all images, save the database as an archive. Now you can change the ending of the file from .ninox to .zip.
Once it is changed you can unpack and find a folder structure with all images.

I have an "Events View" associated with my database. I'd like to export data from one event only. Every time I try a list of events gets exported.

What I'm trying to do is send an email to ALL attendees of an event by exporting to an Excel or other spreadsheet. Do you have any recommendations?

    Thanks,

Hi Allen, there are two export functions:

From the database home screen "Export Data". This function will export everything from the table, all data fields and all entries to Excel or CSV.

The second option to export data is the export function from a table view. You reach this by clicking on the tab of the view. This function only exports what is visible in the view. Only fields displayed in the view and filtered entries will be exported.

    Hi Alex

I'm trialling the cloud database which looks to do everything I want it to do - well most things anyway. But am I right in thinking you can export the whole database in html format so this could be placed on a website to be read by anyone with a browser? I can't get this functionality to work. Every time I go to the options tab in the collections window and choose html for the rent preview - as instructed - I can't select all the records so end up with just the current record. Can you please let me know how to do this?

The other bit of functionality I would really like to see implemented is the ability to highlight the search term in the field when the search function is activated. That would make searching and focusing on a found set of records much more efficient for the reader. Any chance this could be built in - if there isn't a way at the moment that I might have missed.

I realise that to achieve a full online search capability, I think I would need to create a database in the server version but it would be very good if I could put a small database fully searchable onto my website from the cloud version.

    Many thanks.

    Regards

    Correction:

In the first para of my comment, it should read:

Every time I go to the options tab in the collections window and choose html for the print preview – as instructed – I can’t select all the records so end up with just the current record.

    Apologies for the error.

    Hi Steve,

there is a second print option to print the whole table.
Go back to the table and click on the Table print icon. This is located in the middle bar (next to the funnel icon).

We put highlight search terms on the change request list. But we cannot say exactly when we implement it.

We have more features to publish databases to HTML on the change request list. But we cannot say exactly when we implement it.

    Hi there,

I would like to replace Handbase which is not updated anymore and will not work anymore in the newest iOS release.
Nino is very interesting for managing my duties on customers's site

But I didn't find any solution to, only, export a record (in CSV). Is there any solution for that purpose (I use this CSV record to generate a word report that I can update later with more precise info)

Hope you have a solution or that it will be available soon.
    Best regards,
    Alain

If I understand correctly you want to export only one record as csv.
    Try this:
    - In table view filter the record so only your desired record is visible.
    - Make sure all fields you want to export are visible.
    - Select "Export data" from the gear menu

Hello - i am trying to export the entire table and all of its content not just the current view but i cant seem to make it work. The recommendation to go to the DB homepage and try the export table option isnt available at all. I am both the owner and Admin for the database and so its not a permissions issue. Can you please advise on how to conviniently export the entire table without having to be limited by the columns shown in the view ( i have 100's of columns and hence dont want to add each column 1 by 1). Thanks!

The "Export Data" option is available from the DB homepage in the Ninox Mac app.

But I do not see it available in the cloud version. I do not know why, it only has Data Import.
