Select a range of records within a table.

WWith say records from 1 to 100 how does one select all the records from 12 to 78?  Is there a new method to do so?  Similar to click and Shift+Click

    Now wouldn't that be nice...
    I create a quick filter column that effectively selects the columns then use that to do multiple change, etc..
