Is it possible to trigger code on a timer?

For many use-cases it would be useful to be able to trigger code based on a timed event (i.e. 12pm every day) - or triggered by a date field (i.e. date/time = now). Is this in the roadmap?

While I would LOVE to see scheduling / timer type items in the base platform..  I would think leveraging either integrations like

    https://zapier.com/apps/schedule/integrations

or native command line access from Mac / ChromeBook would be more beneficial...

While I have used a Mac since 2001(ish) .. and have written all kinds of Java server / client apps ... I am not that well versed in using Apple Script or Automator.    What would be interesting to see is if either Ninox could publish it.. or some other smart user would...

Use Apple Script or Automator to launch Ninox ..

Navigate to and open the desired database / app....

Enter desired data (or you can use the trigger on open )..

You can also use zapier or integromat .. but those will work with the Ninox / Cloud hosted application.

Thanks a lot for quick reply and your kind help. I started use of Mac only in 2020, and think it will be easier for me to deploy integromat rather than Apple Script.

For integromat.. you need a Ninox cloud account.. for for about $100 USD / year.. not a bad investment.   I have created a few integromat scenarios.. Pretty good stuff..   I have seen some complaints about availability .. so if it needs to be highly available.. you may need more investment.. Not sure..

Already have paid cloud acct at ninox. At earlier stage.. hope to use free integromat subscription (once 12pm trigger to updte dates)

Sounds like a plan..  For some of the simple things I have done... I like Integromat...   Some things.. I do in Ninox (put the business login in after update triggers) .. and use Integromat to fire the trigger.   This way I have one spot for the business logic.. and it is decoupled from the integration service.

Keep us updated on  your success!
