I've never been able to figure it out.

You can't change them! As far as I know, these numbers are the ID number for the values, given by the system! The numbers missing probably belong to records you have deleted, right? The way I see it, the only way to do this, is create a new choice field and put in the correct values.

Your can change the order visually but not change the index associated with that choice creation. That way Ninox preserves any data integrity on old records that had a choice used but you may have since deleted in your choice list. I this this is the smart thing to do - some years back in in the other db software, you could effectively reindex your choices but then you had to be sure that any associated update of the table allowed for updated the table records so as not to rewrite old choice say 2. New job was not updated to a new 2 choice ie 2. Proofed job.
What I would like to see if a way to get a deleted choice option back though as clearly Ninox keeps track of this....

I get the need however if you are using those numbers for scripts elsewhere it would throw those off, which is why I’ve been migrating to use Text() since it is easier to follow the logic in the script and ignores the numbers.

If you can access a Ninox cloud database file with a text editor you can undelete records or make changes like Rafael wants. As you know, when you download a Ninox cloud database it does garbage collection which will prevent recovering deleted records, record modifications and database modifications. Even after downloading a Ninox cloud database you should be able to make changes to the Choice field ordering and numbering, but it will be challenging with a Table with a lot of records. I can do this with my local database files.
