Is there a command to make a specific field active on creation of a new record?

By which I mean, the cursur is inserted into said field so I can immediately start type without having to click into it...

if you mean make a specific field to have the focus other than the first data entry field on opening the form - then no you can't

Yeah, I see that now. Interestingly, if the table is embedded into a parent or related table it doesn't even focus on the first field. Annoying. Anyway, thanks for answering, Mel.
