Inserting a line in a table
Hi, how do I insert a line between two records in a table. I have a client thats head is deadset that he needs to insert a line between two records so he can easily input data manually from a hard copy. Somehow I feel blond here, as I think the solution is going to be obvious.

I hope this answers your question.

Hi sorry, I was not clear - I meant inserting a record line. Normally new records are added to the bottom. The way you insert a record line in Excel. An example he has lines of cars, say BMW, Nissan, Mercedes, now next month he wants to add a BMW at a specific spot among the other BMWs, not necessarily alphabetically. In Excel he would have inserted a new line for data.

Please let us know the answer, following your call. I think it is an interesting question. My first thought is to have a auto-numbered sorted column that contains numbers like:
1.000
2.000
3.000
Then to insert between 1.000 and 2.000, you would enter 1.500. To insert between 1.000 and 1.500, you would enter 1.250, etc.

Thats what I also though David, but hoped there was something better to retain this client. I have a call with Maja tomorrow morning. Will update.

David, what it boils down to is that our solution of fractioned numbers and sorting it accordingly is the only solution. Excel is a grid while Ninox is a database
