Formula for Date

I am trying to create a formula that inputs todays date in the format "MM.DD" in a text field. 

 

How do I do this?

    Something like this?

    ---

    let t := today();
    let mm := month(t);
    let dd := day(t);
    TextField := mm + "." + dd

    ---

    I can try that, but if the month is for example March, I would prefer it to display 03 instead of just 3.

    TextField := format(t, "MM.DD")

    ---
