Parent - child??
Hello,
I am building a database where I store all the sheet music titles for my work (conductor). To that I link a location where that music is stored (room, closet, shelf, box)
Composers, lyricists, arrangers, difficulty level, duration etc etc etc it all worked out.
But......
I also want to store my performances, both past and future. So I am thinking of creating in a table "performances" a date, location and name of the concert, which association.
But I also want to include the titles to be performed from the table "titles".
There should then be 2 overviews: in the form "titles" all the times I performed that title and in the table/form "performances", on the record of the performance: an overview which titles I performed during that concert.
Is that possible? I do not expect you to create this for me, but please give a direction so I know what to look for. e.g. Parent-child????
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Yes, you can create a record per performance with the data of this performance. In that same table you can then create a child-table (composition) with a link to the Titles table.
That sub-table then simply lists the titles with any additional comments. It is actually similar to an invoicing database where you have the invoice table with the items used in a child table with their number.
