Is there a way to order the "Many" list when making a selection?

Perhaps best explained with an example:

I have a table with a list of objects

I have another table with a list of specific dates

I've linked the Objects (1) to the dates (Many)

When I click on the linked field the list of specific dates is presented as a choice but these dates appear in the same order they were entered. I would prefer that they appeared in chronological order. By way of example lets assume I enter three records

- 2001

- 2005

- 1995

I would like the "presented" list to appear as 2005,2001 and 1995 but it always appears in the order in which the records were created.

I've ordered the records in the original table chronologically but as noted when the selection list appears its in the order the records were entered.

Is there a way to control the ordering of the records in the selection list?
