I'm a private user and have a iPad version of Ninox which was relatively inexpensive, however I would like to try and make a few more complex multi relational databases and was hoping to be able to do that on my pc.  However it seems the only way to do that is via a cloud subscription which costs over $100 pa...have I got that correct?

There is no simple way for a home user to have a cheap version useable on a pc?  I was looking to change from Access where I have a bunch of databases, but appears I may need to stay put.  The same policy put me off FileMaker when I looked ta that as well.  Its just not worth given the types of databases I will be using.

    Thanks Sean,

However, that was my point, so it seems I will need to pay $160 pa for something I will use 2 or 3 times per year as all of my databases are on the IPad, I just wanted to be able to do some of the designs on the pc and then transfer to the iPad.

i suspect for that money I might as well just go to FileMaker which seems to be a better platform and provides proper looking forms/apps for use on the iPad when compared to Ninox?

    Paul,

I have to assume you hadn't checked pricing on FileMaker before your last post. Based on your exchange rate that would put the price at over $800 which would be difficult to justify if you're only going to use it 2 or 3 times a year. The Ninox  app for macOS is a steal by comparison. If you only have a Windows computer Microsoft Access might be a better value.

FileMaker is much more capable than Ninox, but I'm pretty sure it got about a 30 year head start too ;).

LOL - yes a 30 year headstart helps.  I was looking at a FileMaker student version, still expensive but not $800.

Im already fairly heavily into Access and quite like it, but have never used it for web apps which I suppose is what I now need if I want to migrate across platforms (iPad/laptop)

I also recently read that the web applications wont be supported and for some reason my 2016 version of Access dbase does not offer web apps as a template, not sure if I selected that as an option when loading it because I was not using the web apps at the time as I had (have) no access to SharePoint.  Strange.
