2 questions about views

Hi,

I was playing around with views and started wondering about a couple silly things:

1. When creating a nee table, the default table view is created. Would deleting such view affect data in any way?

2. Is there a way to have data showed in form of a table (like in table view) and work directly on it (you know...being able to modify the data directly in the table without opening the form for every single record, like you would in apple numbers or filemaker or access or excel...)

That's all: simple one this time 😉

    1) you have to have some view, but you don't have to have the default table view. deleting views doesn't affect data, just how you interact with your data.

    2) i don't think there is a way to edit records in a table view. this has been asked many times.

Fred thank you! And oops for the many-times-already-asked question 😃

Gianluca Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was scolding you. Just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one that wants this ability.

Fred no worries… I didn’t take it that way at all 😃 it’s all good!!!

But should I ever be in need to be scolded, please do 😂😂😂 I try to look if what I ask has already been asked but sometimes I can’t find it and sometimes I’m just lazy  😂😂😂

Actually you can directly write into a table. Double-click on any field and it gets into edit mode - at least in the cloud version.

You can even move around with the cursor keys. And if any field has the blue border, you can directly start typing.

Well there you go. For you cloud users you can. Sadly us app users do not get that ability.

Lars Thanks. Unfortunately I'm on the Mac App :)

I guess I wasn't clicking on an editable field.

Now if they can do that with the view element.
