How to: Ninox AI Features
Optimising Workflows with Ninox AI
The AI assistant built into Ninox 4, also known as Ninox AI, is a versatile tool. It allows you to create, customise, and improve your apps efficiently and with minimal effort.
💡 Three models are currently available, each offering its own strengths depending on the situation:
- Haiku 4.5: for quick questions and small changes - fastest
- Sonnet 5.5: for everyday tasks - fast
- Opus 5.5: for complex tasks and building apps - slower
Apps
The most powerful feature of Ninox AI is building and maintaining apps.
Building an app
On the home screen of your workspace, you'll find the "Create app with Ninox AI" option.

Click on it and describe the purpose of the app you want. The assistant will then generate a potential schema and offer the option to refine it. The more precise the prompt, the better. Once you're satisfied, give your approval and the creation process begins. You can find more information on this topic here.
Customising an existing app
If you want to customise an existing app, the assistant can do this for you. The assistant will always propose changes first and then wait for your approval. In the chat settings, you can also select "Auto" instead of "Manual" to skip the approval process.
The assistant also automatically suggests possible fields when you want to create a new table in the app. Simply enter the table name and review Ninox AI's suggestions. You can then choose which fields you want to adopt.
Logic
Ninox AI also supports you in writing and optimising logic, or explaining existing scripts.
Writing logic
Every logic editor has a chat with Ninox AI. In it, you can ask the assistant to formulate logic, for example: "Write a script that only adds up this month's individual sales over 30,000 in value."
Optimising logic
Unoptimised logic - for example, using "select" when a table relationship already exists - can place more strain on Ninox's processing power than necessary. In the logic editor chat, enter a prompt such as "Simplify this script" or "Clean up this logic for better performance" and Ninox AI will suggest improvements.
Explaining logic
When building or optimising logic with the assistant's help, the result may not always be immediately clear to you. Prompts in the logic editor chat such as "Explain the purpose of this script" or "Explain how to fix the error in line 5" can help here.
Data
Ninox AI only works with your records' contents if your workspace settings allow it. This gives the assistant the ability to illustrate all the information in your app for you. Ninox AI can still create apps and add sample data without access to records.
Creating sample data
When the assistant creates a new app, it automatically suggests adding sample data. However, you can also ask the assistant to do this for existing tables at any time. This makes apps much more illustrative.
Retrieving and analysing data
Ninox AI can analyse data in real time. For example, enter the following prompt: "Sum the revenue shares of the five products with the largest revenue share in the previous year." As a result, you'll see the amount displayed in the chat.
More complex queries are also possible. The prompt "Create a table of the 10 customers with the longest average payment delay. Include payment transactions from only the last three years." will then display a corresponding report in the chat.
How Ninox AI protects your work
The AI assistant cannot access or modify data if the current user does not have access to it themselves. This is ensured by multiple layers of security, which are explained in this documentation article.
