Fail to Read Data

I get the above error message when I have tried to import CSV files into Ninox.  Any suggestions?  I am trying this in the Android version.  The CSV files come from a windows based Filemaker program.  When I examine the CSV files in a word processing program, they appear to be intact and formatted correctly with commas.

    I think you may have forgotten to upload the picture.

    Make sure you are using the latest version. If you are an still having problems, then it is an issue you should email Ninox about.

       By picture, I presume you mean the CSV file.  I followed the import procedure in Android: Opening the target table ->

        Picking "Import data..." from the drop down list ->

          Picking "From Device" on the "Import Data" page ->

            Selecting the csv file from a list ->

              Filling out the "Data source settings" page and selecting the "Next" button ->

                Only to have a "Fail to read data." screen pop up.

      Do I have to upload the csv file first?  If so, to where?  I tried opening it in either a file program (Cx File Explorer) or a text editor (Quick Edit) prior to attempting the above, but that did not help.  Having the csv file in either Main Storage or on an SD Card made no difference.

      Just as the above except for a "No" in the "First line is header" slot.

      Personally, the times I have had trouble importing a CSV file, it was either because the file was not UTF-8 encoded or because the file used a different delimiter.

      As a solution, I would suggest to opening the CSV file in Excel and saving it again as a CSV file with UTF-8 encoding (it's in the save as... options) and then importing it using the separator (;)

        bear in mind the following:

      To handle .csv files, Microsoft Excel uses the List separator defined in Windows Regional settings.

      In North America and some other countries, the default list separator is a comma, so you get CSV comma delimited.

      In European countries, a comma is reserved for the decimal symbol, and the list separator is generally set to semicolon. That is why the result is CSV semicolon delimited.

    I communicated with the Ninox support team, who found this was a bug in the Android version.  Unfortunately, there was no work around.  Hopefully they will correct this.

    I did work around this difficulty by importing my .csv file from a website(my own).  The .csv file appears to import without difficulty when doing this from a URL, tho direct .csv importation returns an error message.
