Print Layout: Sorting a subtable via a 'hidden' field?
Hi,
I have a print layout with a subtable which contains three columns.
I need to sort the subtable output by a field which I don't want on the actual print layout, but if I don't have the field on the subtable layout, I can't sort by it. When I hide the column, the sorting defaults back to the main column and screws up the order I need the fields to appear.
Is there any way to sort the output without having the column of the sorting field? I thought about setting the column width to 0 on the print layout too, but it won't hide the field and you still see the column title, but 1 character wide..
Can anyone help please?

Yes there is an answer but you won't particularly like it!
Firstly - Ninox have yet to date not addressed the matter for formatting views on a print layout form - is has been on a wish list for ages - but ...
Secondly you put the column that you don't want to display (but need to sort on) either as the first or last in the view. Then you drag (widen the view) so that column is off the page in the layout).Now it will work (however the limit on this is that if you add border grid lines around the the cells on the sub table /view etc then is shows the printed line going off the page!
Do it like this (you can see my sort col (with 0,2 and 4 in it offf the page)
border grid lines make it messy! as the rule will print off the page both on printer and pdf!
Not elegant but at least it works

Just set the page boxes like this !! 297 in left box and 210 in right box on the designer

I add a blank text box , then set the background to white and scale and position it to mask the column I wish to hide (placing that column at the end). It works and you can even get the borders to show with a bit of careful placing.
