alert about messaging

Hi! I'd like to create a field with an icon that appear to alert when a message has been recived in the message area.

Any suggests?

    what is the message area? Do you have a tabel that contains messages or do you mean the "Comments" of a datarecord?

    Comments cannot be queried via script :-( - Not yet
