Gantt Date Format using European and not US

Even though the date field formats are done in US, when I created a view for Gantt, the top timeline dates are formatted for Europe (MM/DD/YYYY).  I don't see a way to change that since it would need to be a Database wide option, and perhaps because Ninox is a European company they are trying to influence the Americans?
