I want to create a simple record ID for use in concatenation. I know how to do that using a formula to build a counter but I wondered if its possible to use the database record Id for the same purpose. I tried a simple formula ie “Record Counter = Id” but that creates a circular reference that displays in the formula editor as “I = Id”. I have no idea what“s happening. 

Is there any way to use the Id to create a separate field of the same numeric value?
