Count number of records that fulfil a search criterium
Hi!
I have a table called Residents that are based in different towns. Each resident has their town as a field entry in a drop down list that includes Gothenburg, Skaraborg, Ludwigsburg.
I have another table called Questions and I am trying to write a formula in a field with the question such as ’How many resident doctors are based in Gothenburg?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the two tables will be related. It seems like there will need to be a third table that somehow links the two. For example, record 1 in your Questions table ask "How many resident doctors are based in". I'm guessing you want the data from the town field in Residents to be filled in. My first question is:
1) do you want to create this question for each town? if so then you need to create a record somewhere that stores each iteration of the question, i.e. record 1 = "How many resident doctors are based in" Gothenburg. record 2 = "How many resident doctors are based in" Skaraborg. record 3 = "How many resident doctors are based in" Ludwigsburg, etc.
Maybe if you gave us a better understanding of your DB and your goals we can point you in the proper direction.
